Redeeming reward points
The available points discount is applied to the subtotal. The shipping amount can't be covered with reward points at the moment.
Admin experience
When you create an order, you can redeem points on behalf of a customer.
If partial redeeming is allowed, enter the amount of points in Redeem Reward Points field and click on the arrow icon.
Otherwise, click on Apply X Points button (X is the maximum amount of points available to redeem).
Storefront experience
The customer can apply reward points to the order on the cart page before placing the order on the storefront.
If partial redeeming is allowed, expand Redeem Reward Points section, enter the amount of points, and click Apply button.
Otherwise, expand Redeem Reward Points section and click on Apply X Points button (X is the maximum amount of points available to redeem).
Redeeming rules
Redeeming rules determine the maximum amount of points that can be applied to a given cart based on the conditions.
They allow to configure limitations for customers' use of reward points.
Create the redeeming rule
- On the Admin sidebar, go to Sales → Reward Points → Reward Redeeming Rules.
- In the upper-right corner, click Add New Rule.
- Enter the Name for internal reference.
- If you do not want the rule to go into effect immediately, set Active to No.
- Select the Websites where the rule should apply.
- Select the Customer Groups to which the rule applies.
- Set Priority. It determines the order in which rules apply. The lower the number, the higher the priority. Only one rule can be applied at the same time.
- Describe the conditions.
- Define the actions.
- When complete, click Save & Continue.
Describe the conditions
Expand Conditions section and configure the conditions under which the rule should apply as you would for a cart price rule. Only Cart Attribute conditions are supported at the moment. If left blank, the rule can be applied to any cart.
Define the actions
- Expand Actions section.
- Select Action that must be applied if the rule matches the conditions. Action can either be Disallow redeeming or Redeem points only for matching items.
- If Redeem points only for matching items is selected, specify the conditions for cart items.
Disallow redeeming action completely disables point redeeming for the affected cart.
Redeem points only for matching items action allows redeeming points only for items that match the conditions.
Delete the redeeming rule
- On the Admin sidebar, go to Sales → Reward Points → Reward Redeeming Rules.
- Find the rule to be deleted and open it in edit mode.
- In the menu bar, click Delete.
- To confirm the action, click OK.
Troubleshooting
"No Payment method available" error
If your order total is fully covered with reward points, and you get the "No Payment method available" error message, please enable Zero Subtotal Checkout and clean the cache.
